Autism Consciousness Week Launch at Baguio City Hall
Nationally, the Autism Consciousness Week is declared under Presidential Decree No. 711, which specifies that Children with Autism (CWA) must be provided with appropriate education, health and social services as well as equal opportunities and adequate protection to prepare them for their role in community development. The proclamation is the government’s response to the increasing number of CWA cases. With this official launching, we at DREAM Foundation, together with the Baguio city government, support the Presidential Decree.

DREAM Donates to Sunflower Children’s Center Through iShare Project
Fr. Geraldo Costa, Director, Sunflower Children’s Center (right) receives toys from A Child’s Dream Foundation, Inc. Administrator/Education Specialist Anne Marie Dimalanta as part of iShare project. Patients donated 110 toys to the center this Christmas. DREAM is Baguio’s first pediatric therapy center servicing children with special needs. iShare was conceptualized so patients give back by sharing toys with other children. Beneficiaries are children recovering from past traumatic experiences and are overwhelmed by life’s hardships.
Serendipity: Our Family’s Special Journey Through Autism

My husband and I are both practicing physicians. We are blessed with two lovely children – Raphael and Ysabell. Sometime in 2001, I decided to lay low in my medical practice and devote more time for our family. It came as no surprise to people close to me for they had always known that my husband and I put our family first at all times. We moved to a home in a more quiet suburban metro, to allow more space for our growing children. We agreed that the arrangement was temporary, and that I would resume private practice after 5 years, when the kids would already be in school. Everything was just perfect.

A Child’s DREAM Offers iServe Free Therapy
A Child’s DREAM, Baguio’s 1st pediatric therapy center for children with special needs, an Autism Society of the Philippines national corporate member, offers iServe – FREE Seminar for Parents, Caregivers, Teachers and FREE Physical, Occupational, Speech Therapy, special education evaluations and home programs. This was announced by Dr. Francis Xavier Dimalanta, DREAM Founder & Medical Director.
The Free Therapy will be given on October 26, 2011, Wednesday from 8 am to 4 pm, at the Immaculate Conception Parish, Ledesma St., Aurora Hill, Baguio City. October is National Children’s month, as DREAM partners with the Department of Health, Cordillera Administrative Region, the City of Baguio and the Baguio City Health Services Department in iServe. A Child’s DREAM celebrates its 8th year anniversary, having been incorporated with SEC in October 2003.
